Demand for gold in Kazakhstan dropped 78% in Q1, with 176 kg of gold bars sold - National Bank

ALMATY. May 15 (Interfax-Kazakhstan) - Kazakhstan-based banks and exchange offices sold 11,084 gold bars with a total weight of 176 kg in January-March 2025 or a drop of 78% compared with the same period of the previous year when the residents of Kazakhstan bought 18,969 gold bars, weighing 816.4 kg, the National Bank said in a Thursday press release.
